My first wedding in Kenya this year took place in Watamu, a small town two hours North of Mombasa. Claire, the bride, is from Kenya with a british heritage. Bob, the groom, is american and they both live in New York. No wonder why they choose to escape the winter blues and to reach the place where Claire grew up as a child. The beautiful Indian Ocean Coast was the ideal place to celebrate their union surrounded by friends and relatives. The evening before the wedding was a very casual get-together on dhows, the traditional boats in East Africa. A unique moment in time cruising along the mangrove at sunset. The following day, the wedding ceremony was set in the backyard of the villa — being almost the white sand beach itself. As a wedding photographer, I always feel extremely fortunate to be part of this kind of events. Thank you Claire and Bob for your hospitality. I wish you all the best for the years to come.
