Pre wedding photography is a very interesting — and in my opinion difficult — portraiture exercise. Even though I really enjoy them I can only take a limted amount of sessions during the year. When Fanny and Kelvin shared the idea of having their photos taken in the sand dunes of Dubai, the thrill was up!! So here we go together driving off-road in search of an inspiring environment. Driving in the big dunes is actually very technical. One could get stuck easily but we had a lot fun. We had to go a little bit deeper in the desert to find an orange sand, which makes a big difference in the final result. The weather was a bit stormy on the way but it finally cleared for the sunset. With such high contrasts, it was too tempting to play with silhouettes and black and white tones. We also took a few shots at the luxurious ‘The Palace Hotel Dubai’ located a few steps away from the famous landmark ‘Burj Khalifa’. It was quite a different experience than usual but I am looking forward to organizing more prewedding sessions in Dubai and the Middle East.
