A Dhow Wedding in Mombasa | Kaya & Mark

It is no secret that I am in love with Kenya. My first trip to Africa, being more than 10 years ago, I always get very excited when an opportunity arises to return. Kaya and Mark’s beautiful celebration took place in Watamu, a small fishing town about 2hrs drive North of Mombasa. The shoreline is part of the Marine National Park and has an amazing array of mangrove. The intimate ceremony was set on a cruising dhow (the traditional wooden boat) filled with Dawa (the locally famous honey-vodka drink). The reception was held in the backyard of a private villa, located by the water. A perfect location for an equally perfect wedding day! Congrats to the lovers!
